We are very excited that Sinterklaas will visit us again in Chicago this year! The 'Goedheiligman' will pay us a visit on Sunday, December 8th, on his trip home from the Netherlands!
The doors will open at 12.00 PM to sign in. We will have an arts & crafts area for the children were they can decorate their own goodie bag for the pepernoten and make a small craft.
In the mean time the parents can enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee or tea with a koekje. During the intermission there will also be (soft) drinks, stroopwafels and poffertjes. The organization also offers some light snacks for all.
We ask all parents to bring a wrapped gift along for your child(ren). We suggest you wrap the gift(s) in red wrapping paper or off course Sinterklaas paper, if you have any. Make sure their first and last names are written clearly on each gift, so Sinterklaas will not make a mistake! We ask that your gift(s) does not exceed $10, as Sinterklaas loves all children equally.
The gifts will be collected at the gymnasium before we start.
For older children (they 'know'!):
For children who are older and 'know' about Sinterklaas there will be Sinterklaas games in another location at the school. You will receive more information about this party and what to bring in the week before the event!
Let's make this event extra special for Sinterklaas. Can you please practice the following songs with your children?
The reservation deadline is Thursday, December 5, 2013. If you have any questions or remarks, please send the Sint an email by clicking here.
Do you want to be a volunteer at this event? Please let us know by sending us a message to firstname.lastname@example.org. Since this event has grown to around 100 children, we can sure use your help!
Children of members of the Dutch Club of Chicago and Students of the Tul(i)p School enjoy discounted ticket prices.
Please book tickets for your 'believing' or 'knowing' child(ren) accordingly. Both groups will attend a different event on the same day in the same building.
Due to the size of this event this year, we also need to know how may adults will be accompanying the children this year. The admission for adults is free.
