Leadership & the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center

Kathy Ramsberger, President of the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, will discuss how she was brought into the project of the Performing Arts Center; has steered her way to make this a reality; discuss the history of the project and provide some leadership lessons.

Bruno Sousa, the VP of IT at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, will address the technology used in the building.

Kathy Ramsberger - Kathy Ramsberger is president of the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.  She is responsible for leading the effort to create one of the newest performing arts centers of the 21st century in the heart of downtown Orlando; and has been at the helm of this decades-long dream for Central Florida since 2002. 

She has played a critical role in bringing to this market the knowledge and insight of how performing arts centers operate nationally. And under her leadership, the Center has raised an unprecedented $104 million in private gifts, notably during one of our country’s most challenging economic times. 

Kathy has over 20 years of proven leadership experience, including serving as Senior Vice President and Film Commissioner of the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission; International Business Development Director and Senior Designer for Itec Productions, Inc.; and Director of Arts and Entertainment for the City of Orlando. She has also taught at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Bruno Sousa -Bruno is a dynamic technology leader and professional with over 15 years of progressively responsible experience. He has a  solid reputation for dedicated teamwork, motivated work ethic, and dynamic leadership.   He is recognized as a strategic visionary and problem solver capable of translating expert technology acumen into business transforming strategies and tactics.  Bruno has a diverse background in technology founded in a 10-year tenure at IBM including experience in networking, telecommunications, software application systems, application and web development.  In addition, he has demonstrated success in delivering complex and dynamic projects in Fortune 1000 enterprises and entrepreneurial initiatives.
