Sunday, September 29, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM (PDT)
Long Beach, CA
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Art is a voice for all and in the middle of the devastation in Syria, it is a significant form of expression. In that spirit, come join us for an art filled evening featuring exceptional and moving artwork from Syrian and local artists. The event will also feature musical performances by local and world-renowned musicians and even a traditional “hakwati” tale performed by Syrian youths.
Through this evening of artistic expression, we offer our assistance in the most humble, joyful and hopeful of ways to our brothers and sisters in Syria. Please, join us in extending that southern California help overseas to those in need. Invite your neighbors, friends, family, co-workers and help us spread the word. It doesn't matter where we stand politically, the children of Syria need us and we can all help!
*Your ticket includes an evening of artistic expression - both seen and heard, a delicious 3-course dinner, and the opportunity to make a difference in lives of children in need.
When & Where
The Maram Foundation
The Maram Foundation was founded by Syrian-American activists in October of 2012, in response to the overwhelming humanitarian crisis facing the Syrian people. The foundation’s first initiative was the Olive Tree refugee camp in Atmeh, Syria. The camp is now home to over 25,000 Syrian refugees (or "IDPs", internally displaced persons). Maram Foundation built and runs the kitchen that provides hot meals for the camp, and also established a women's center and built schools to help support and educate the women and children of the camp. The Maram Foundation's efforts also extend far beyond the camp. Maram Foundation is currently building another school inside Syria to help educate more displaced children and also delivers humantiarian aid like food, clothes and medical care to numerous towns and cities all throughout Syria.
