The Nebraska Suicide Prevention Coalition and the Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors, in partnership with Nebraska Army National Guard and the Indian Center Youth Suicide Prevention Program is committed to raising awareness in our communities regarding the issues surrounding suicide, mental health and stigma. We are dedicated to the continuation of work within our communities to fight stigma and enhance resiliency. Come support this event and remind all of our Military and Community members, that whether it is on the battlefield or at home, No one fights alone.
All Proceeds from this event will benefit the Lincoln/ Lancaster Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors (LOSS) team. The LOSS team consists of trained survivors and mental health professionals acting as volunteers to bring immediate support to persons who have a loved one complete suicide.
Every day 22+ Veterans and 1 Active Duty Soldier takes their own lives. Burdened with the stigma associated with mental health issues, many instead turn to suicide as their only option to relieve suffering.We believe we all have a responsibility to help all of our brothers and sisters in who suffer from the deepest, invisible wounds before they feel their only choice is taking their own lives.
Registration will open at 8:00 am.
2 mile walk to begin at 9:30 am
5k to begin at 10:00 am.
Registration includes a t-shirt. Please register by October 5th to guarantee t-shirt availablity.
Community Resource Information booths will be held near Shelter #3.
