Event Details

This is a two-session series that meets on Thursday, October 15  from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 19 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Sewists with basic machine knowledge are invited to create retro modern shift dresses with Claire Steinriede! Adults only, please. Participants will use body measurements, pattern templates (sizes XS - XL), sample shifts, and their own design ideas to create custom, one-of-a-kind dresses just in time for the fall chill and boot season! Create a simple over-the-head shift, or experiment with zippers, embellished sleeves, and the like. Claire will share her zipper tips and variations, and fellow classmates will be there to give input and assist! Leave with a personalized pattern that you can use again and again!

Participants will need to purchase/provide 2-4 yards of fabric (depending upon size), coordinating thread, red dot pattern paper, and a 22" zipper (optional). All supplies are available for purchase at Sew Memphis at a 10% class discount. A more detailed supply list will be included in the confirmation email sent to those who register.

Bring your own machine or sign up early to rent one of four shop machines. Machine-rental tickets must be purchased in conjunction with tickets to the Shift Lab series. Those who prefer to sign up in person or over the phone (via credit card) may do so during Sew Memphis business hours
