Sheryl WuDunn, co-author of "Half the Sky: Turning Oppression in to Opportunity for Women Worldwide"
Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 5:00 PM (EST)
Sheryl Wu Dunn, author and Pulitzer prize-winning journalist, addresses human rights issues through an interactive presentation at Colby-Sawyer College, New London, New Hampshire on November 12.
Ms. WuDunn appears at Colby-Sawyer College as the keynote speaker to culminate the day-long event, "What Women Want Now: New Hampshire Women's Caucus".
The keynote address is a ticketed event open to the public, and tickets will be sold separately from the Caucus event.
She will base her address on the book, Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, in which she and her husband and co-author Nicholas Kristof maintain that slavery, sex-trafficking and abuse of women are the greatest moral outrages of the century. They promote the view that “the best way to fight poverty and extremism is to educate and empower women and girls.”
Following her address, WuDunn will be available to sign copies of her book.
