Present Company, in partnership with Whole Foods Market, presents SHAKESPEARE AT THE MARKET: Much Ado About Nothing, to be performed on the rooftop of the downtown Austin flagship Whole Foods Market this spring. The event will run Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings with seating at 6:30pm, April 18th-May11, 2014. Promoting the philosophy of “accessible & sustainable art,” SHAKESPEARE AT THE MARKET will be a FREE event, with an educational and entertaining pre-show (“The Shakespeare Field Guide”) before the performance. Guests are encouraged to arrive early, bring a blanket or short chair, and stop by the prepared foods department at Whole Foods Market to pick up a picnic. A suggested donation of $10-20 is encouraged for guests who are able to support. This project is funded and supported in part by the City of Austin through the Economic Development Department/Cultural Arts Division believing an investment in the Arts is an investment in Austin’s future. Present Company is a non-profit theatre collective sponsored by the Austin Creative Alliance. Founded in 2010, Present Company produces theatre in unexpected ways and unexpected places throughout Austin. The creators of the magical SHAKESPEARE ON THE FARM and SHAKESPEARE AT THE MARKET series, and the producers of last year's smash hit Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Present Company brings theatre off of the traditional stage and into people’s lives in meaningful ways. Utilizing unconventional spaces and real live people, Present Company creates accessible and sustainable theatrical art of the past, present, and future.
