Join us for a free SPECIAL EDITION* of the SGV East Food Swap, as we gather together at a fellow swapper's private residence** in Hacienda Heights!
*You'll want to be there, not only for the incredible food we've been swapping, but also to check out an inspiring way to garden and farm in your own backyard!
Saturday, June 29 from 10 a.m. to noon
*Exact address, not far from the intersection shown on the map, will be given in a follow-up email upon registration.
We gather together simply in the name of creating community by exchanging homemade and homegrown goods such as breads, desserts, fruit, sauces, etc. Find us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter and Pinterest. All are welcome to attend parties hosted by SGV East Food Swap, which operates as a private club. Just remember: Money is not accepted, bring something to swap, and if you bring family members or friends, you must pre-register each person separately.
Bring as much or little as you prefer--it's completely up to you. Please also protect your goods by packaging them well, keeping in mind that swapping is easier when the food is separated into quantities ready to be exchanged. Most people bring samples as well. If you realize you cannot attend after registering, please let us know 48 hours in advance, so we can offer your ticket to others who can make it.
Reading about original food swappers Kate Payne and Megan Paska and attending a Pasadena Food Swap was all it took to convince us that the East San Gabriel Valley and its neighbors would enjoy a swap of their own. Learn more about this phenomenon and find other swaps at the Food Swap Network.
Questions? Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
While production of your goods does not have to take place in a commercial kitchen, we expect that you abide by health laws regarding food-borne pathogens and cross-contamination. By registering for any and all events organized by SGV East Food Swap, you acknowledge that you abide by health and safety norms, and also acknowledge the risk associated with any items you will trade for. The organizers and hosts cannot and do not inspect kitchens or edible items, and will not assume any risk associated with the same. All attendees must complete a release form in order to attend swaps; the form as a Word doc can be downloaded here, or as a PDF here. This only needs to be submitted once and will be kept on file for future SGV East Food Swap events. Please complete and email the form to email@example.com.
