Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 1:00 PM - Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 4:00 PM (CDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Six Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 - 4:00 -- September. 11 & 25, October 9 & 23, November 6 & 20.
Students ages 10 and up are invited to join Sarah Terry for six project-based sewing sessions especially designed for homeschoolers. We'll start by learning basic machine-sewing skills and the mechanics of the machine. Then we'll progress through increasingly complex projects while integrating new skills each week. Projects will include zipper purses, fabric-dying, skirts, and color block shirts!
Parents may sign a waiver and drop off their children or stick around and enjoy the fun.
Students must sign up for the entire series, and attendance at the first class is mandatory since the skills learned then will be needed for all other sessions. Bring your own machine or sign up early to reserve one of four shop machines.
The cost of materials is not included in the series fee and ranges from $0 to $35 per class (and averages about $15 per class). Materials can be purchased at Sew Memphis at a 10% discount. The total cost for materials if purchased at Sew Memphis is between $80 and $90.
At the end of each class we will provide a description and list of materials for the next class. If materials are to be purchased from Sew Memphis on the day of the class, students/parents will need to arrive before the class begins to make selections.
