This guide, which provides information on hazardous materials in transportation, is the first line of information available to the emergency responder. Our speaker, Mike Piland will introduce and provide a brief review the use and application of the 2012 DOT Emergency Response Guidebook.
Mr. Michael Piland, Health and Safety Manager for Alpha-Omega Training and Compliance, Inc., has over 36 years of health & safety experience and has specialized expertise in hazardous material management, fire prevention, radiological assessment, health and safety training, construction/general industry safety compliance, accident prevention, explosives handling and emergency response activities. He is retired from the Orlando Fire Department where he served as an Engineer with the Hazardous Materials Unit as well as a Bomb Technician with the city’s Bomb Squad.
