6:00 p.m. Indy Bike Hub YMCA, City Market, 222 E. Market St.
7:00 p.m. Tomlison Tap, also in the City Market`
Greetings, fellow GreenDrinkers!
Before we describe this Month's event, we owe a much-deserved THANK YOU to the good people at The Nature Conservancy. Not only were they very generous with their time and refreshments, but also State Director Mary McConnell guided us on a four level tour of their spectacular LEED PLATINUM building and explained how their structure helps demonstrate their mission. We are fortunate to have an organization like TNC within our midst.
This month's event, on September 11, will also be special: Wheels, Water and Brew!
6:00 p.m. Ride on in to Indy Bike Hub YMCA & BGI Downtown at the City Market
7:00 p.m. Participate in a discussion with White River Festival at the Tomlison Tap, also in the City Market`
We are combining forces with several other sustainable organizations, including Indy Cog, Hoosier Environmental Council and the Sierra Club Hoosier Chapter, to highlight some of our community's man-made and natural assets.
First, we are encouraged to ride our "gas free" vehicles and PARK FREE INSIDE the Indy Bike Hub YMGA in the East End of the City Market. Once there, we will learn how this innovative structure makes it easier for Indy to be a healthier, better-connected community. (Rumor has it that incentives will be offered encouraging a return visit!) If you are unable to ride your bike, you are still welcome to this event!
Next, at 7 p.m., we will convene at Tomlinson Tap Room (Upstairs /Center of the City Market) to hear a panel discussion about the importance of maintaining Central Indiana's watershed. This discussion is part of this year's White River Festival. www.whiteriverfestival.org
Please RSVP... No Paper Tickets needed.
