Loneliness and Connection: Health Indicator

Patrick Arbore, Ed.D

Research  studies have found that loneliness has more of an impact on physical and mental health than social isolation. Our keynote speaker, Dr. Patrick Arbore, will inform and inspire you with the latest research on loneliness and how important it is to make vital connections for mental and physical wellbeing.

Dr. Arbore is a national figure and recipient of the 2013 Mental Health and Aging Award presented by the American Society on Aging for outstanding contributions to the field of aging. He is the Founder and Director of the Center for Elderly Suicide Prevention and Grief Related Services at Institute on Aging in San Francisco.  Dr. Arbore’s knowledge and passion makes him a popular lecturer, speaker and writer. He is a Senior Lecturer at Dame de Namur University and a part-time Lecturer in the School of Social Welfare at the University of California, Berkeley.

This is a great event to connect with over 150 professionals and advocates who care about creating an age friendly community and providing a safety net of services for our older adults. Accomplishments and new ventures in the aging network will be highlighted.
