Event Details

This month we'll be shifting gears a bit to focus on automating your cloud deployments and improving database performance. We're especially delighted to be hosting Craig Kerstiens of Heroku who will be giving us the run down on Postgres performance.  The format will be roughly the same, drinks and food starting at 6:30pm, followed by two thirty-minute presentations. We hope you can join us!

Craig Kerstiens (Heroku)
"Postgres Performance for Humans"
This is a must see for anyone deploying an application powered by Postgres. Craig’s talk will help you make your Postgres database hum. Topics will include caching, query performance, indexing, backups, and more.

Max Smythe (SendHub)
"OpsWorks and Fabric: Automation and Continuous Deployment"
For anyone using Amazon Web Services, OpsWorks is a free, pre-packaged solution worth investigating. This presentation explores the advantages of OpsWorks for automation, monitoring and availability, its use in highly specialized stacks, and how it can be paired with Python’s Fabric for a full-featured continuous integration platform.
