Senator Dianne Feinstein: Guns, Drones and Energy
Senator Feinstein says that the United States should restrain the use of guns on the street and drones in the air. Gun control legislation is inching forward in Congress, though Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid cut out the assault weapon ban that Feinstein has long championed. Calling drones a “very dangerous weapon,” she says sales to other countries should be prohibited and that rules need to be placed on commercial use in this country. And though the Obama administration's drone program aimed at al-Qaeda has drawn criticism from both sides of the aisle, Feinstein contends that the CIA has conducted itself responsibly and should keep running the program rather than transfer it to the Pentagon, as news reports indicate may happen.
