SEEDS FOR YOUR SWEETHEART, 4-H VALENTINE'S DAY FUNDRAISER
With a goal of raising money for the 4-H gardening summer camp, Master Gardeners are assembling and delivering boxes of heirloom vegetable, herbs, or wildflower seeds this Valentine’s Day. These seed boxes make the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for that special someone. They are wrapped with a beautiful bow and come with a card that you can sign. You can pick the boxes up at the Extension Office, 585 N Main, we’ll deliver free of charge (in the cedar city area), or mail them to you for $5/box.
The herb box contains 6 different types of herb seeds: Slo-Bolt Cilantro, Geneves Basil, Common Chives, Oregano Vulgare, Dill, and Giant of Italy Parsley. You will receive 30-40 seeds of each. These seeds can be planted directly in the ground any time after May 1st, or started indoor in mid-march and later transplanted outdoors any time after May 20th.
COOL SEASON VEGETABLE BOX
The cool season vegetable box contains 6 different types of cool season vegetable seeds: Yellow of Parma Onion, Rocky Top Lettuce Mix, Bull's Blood Beet, Kuroda Long Carrots, Bloomsdale Long Spinach & Little Marvel Garden Pea. You will
receive 40-50 seeds of each. These seeds can be planted directly in the ground any time after March 15th.
The salsa vegetable box contains everything you'll need to make the perfect salsa: Anaheim Pepper, Purple Russian Tomato, German Johnson Tomato, Green Tomatillo, Slo-bolt Cilantro and Yellow of Parma Onion. You will receive 25-35 seeds of each. You will want to start the tomato, tomatillo & pepper seeds indoors in mid-march, then transplant outdoors any time after May 20th. The cilantro and onions can be planted directly into the ground any time after March 15th.
MIXED FLOWER BOX
The mixed flower box contains 6 different types of flower seeds: Black-eyed Susan, Plains Coreopsis, Bright Lights Cosmo, Persian Carpet Zinnia, Zebrina Hollyhock and California Poppy. You will receive 30-40 seeds of each, which is the perfect amount of seed for the backyard flower garden. These seeds can be planted directly in the ground any time after May 20th.
