Are you interested in smart eyewear, fascinated by the potential of augmented reality, or motivated by the opportunity to develop on exciting new platforms? Epson’s “See Smarter” event will bring together a group of eager developers, designers, and business people who want to explore the most innovative and useful applications for augmented reality glasses.
The Epson Moverio BT-100 merges the real world with the digital by rendering content on our real environment through a completely transparent display. The device runs on the Android platform, and is rife with possibilities for app developers. We are looking for the next big idea or application that will take advantage of the BT-100's unique capabilities.
We are partnering with Metaio, a global leader in augmented reality, for the event. Metaio provides a number of AR solutions, and has developed an award-winning free SDK. We encourage attendees to familarize themselves with Metaio's SDK prior to the hackathon: http://dev.metaio.com/sdk/getting-started/.
A grand prize of $1000 will be awarded to the team that presents a concept/demo that best takes advantage of the Moverio platform. Two honorable mentions of $500 each will also be awarded.
Epson will provide the venue, lunch on Saturday & Sunday, snacks, and support! We ask that you bring your laptop, ideas, and enthusiasm!
