Arguably New York’s worst crime before the 9/11 attacks is coming to the big screen. Join The National Press Club for a screening of “Long Island Railroad Massacre” on November 6th at 7 p.m. in the Holeman Lounge.
On December 7th, 1993, Colin Ferguson boarded a Long Island commuter train and began to shoot passengers, ending in 19 wounded and six people killed. The event was later coined the “Long Island Railroad Massacre”, to which the film is named. As the 20-year anniversary of the event approaches, the film brings to light issues in gun control and mental illness that still resonate today.
In attendance at the film will be Director, Charlie Minn and Associate Producer, club member, Ken Molestina who will answer questions about the film following the screening. The “LIRR Massacre” screening will preview the film before its premiere in Times Square and Long Island next month.
