We may be missing the party in Raleigh, but us science communicators can certainly have our own fun here in Santa Cruz watching and discussing some sessions from ScienceOnline 2013!
Schedule for Saturday, Feb. 2 (includes time for discussion after each talk):

1:00-2:30p: Persuading the unpersuadable: Communicating science to deniers, cynics and trolls
3:00-4:30p: Life in the Venn -- What happens when you're forced to wear many hats?
Sunday, Feb. 3, from 10am to 5pm is free time to watch any of the remaining sessions, including:

Why is there a fee?
The fee is to cover the streaming costs set by the organizers of ScienceOnline. One ticket allows you to join us for as many -- or as few -- lectures as you want throughout the weekend. If more than 5 people sign up, I'll be able to purchase snacks or food for lunch.
What should I bring?
Dress in layers, as the building is unheated on the weekends. It might be chilly in the morning and I'll have a space heater to help take the edge off.
Bring your own lunch if you plan to be there through lunch time. There is a kitchen with a fridge and microwave. There will also be an electric kettle for hot water and a small coffee pot accessible.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

The parking lots near the building do not require a permit on the weeekends.
