Outrun the Cold.
The Schiller Chiller is a 10k and 5k Trail Race that will be followed by music, beer, and various hot “adult” beverages to warm your body and your soul.
The course will take you through the cold woods, onto the Des Plaines River Trail, over roots, trees, and rocks, and back to our festival area. The 10k and 5k courses will be nearly 75% different from each other. The courses are great for those new to trail running and challenging enough for even the most seasoned trail runner.
All participants will receive a long sleeved race t-shirt, bib, and a Schiller Chiller coffee mug. All 10k participants will also receive a Schiller Chiller shot glass.
After the race you can fill your mug with hot chocolate, “adult” hot chocolate, Irish Coffee, Hot Toddy, or grab a locally crafted beer. Post-race snacks will be provided and there will also be food available for purchase.
The race will be on Saturday, December 1, 2012. The 10k will begin at 10am and the 5k will begin at 10:15am.
The start/finish/festival area is conveniently located right off Irving Park Road in Chicago (detailed directions and race day instructions will be emailed a week before the race).
Registration is only $25 for the 5k and $30 for the 10k. Online registration will close on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 11:59pm CST. The race will be capped at 500 runners, so be sure to register early.
When & Where
We love people. We love Chicago. We love trail running. And we love good beer. We thought it would be a good idea to combine them all. Why not, right?
Our goal is to provide Chicagoland with the best possible trail running experience. From the course design to the staff at the aid stations to the beer served at the after party, our #1 goal is for you to have the best time possible.
We are partnering with local small businesses in the Chicagoland area to start a series of trail races beginning in the fall of 2012.
Hope to see you on the trail soon!
