The Schaumburg Institute for Literacy Enrichment is committed to supporting and accelerating the language and literacy development of students in grades K - 8. Located on the Schaumburg campus of Roosevelt University, the Institute offers Saturday and summer courses that provide diverse learners with enriching and challenging opportunities to learn new skills and strategies, make friends, and deepen their commitment to reading and writing.

SILE 003: Digital Literacy
This Saturday class is for students in Grades 3 - 5 who want to learn how to create their own computer programs. Our program focuses on using programming tools that allow students to learn how to develop, design, and code their own programs. Enrollment is limited to 12 students. The tuition for this course is $350.
Criteria for SILE 003: Digital Literacy Registration
Since this course focuses on the development of skills and strategies, we do not require test scores or recommendation letters. However, parents must complete the on-line registration and ensure that the information provided is current and accurate. Experience with computer programming is not required.
- Each class will be held on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (8:30 a.m. welcome on Saturday, January 25 only)
- Classes begin January 25, 2014 and end on March 15, 2014 (8 weeks).
- The deadline for registration is January 20, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.
