"rEvoultion Summer" Dinner Series

Subculture: an ethnic, regional, economic, or social group exhibiting characteristic patterns of behavior sufficient to distinguish it from others within an embracing culture or society.
Revolution: a sudden, radical, or complete change, activity or movement designed to effect fundamental changes in the socioeconomic situation, a fundamental change in the way of thinking about or visualizing something : a change of paradigm.
Evolution: a process of gradual and relatively peaceful social, political, and economic advance, a process in which the whole universe is a progression of interrelated phenomena.
Born from necessity, the mother of inspired creation. SubCulture Dining came to existence in 2005 with an original mandate to move from the darkness of obscurity to the light of permanence in the encampment known as “Lafitte” on the San Francisco Waterfront. What was originally a simple idea of active growth had become a movement. One that has given birth, motivation and inspiration to others around the world.
Our history is long, well documented, castigated, lauded, falsified, rejected and embraced. We’ve fought through obscurity, broken rules and theories to become a viable entity that had relevance in the culinary community. What we found in the wake of our practices were the lives we touched, the changes to the industry and food movements that we inspired. By no means do we make claims to take credit for the larger picture, we played a small role in pushing boundaries, and rejecting conventional thought.
This is what we’ve found is our core, and this is what we stand for. “The Rejection of Dystopian Culinary Convention.”
Quietly resting and resurrecting, finding its heart and renewing a new mandate. SubCulture Dining makes it return to active subversive operations. Older, wiser, evolved. More than any other time in history, we’re facing culinary oppression on multiple fronts. It’s our position that I hope to bring conversation, action and evolution to the new paradigm.. Led by the Dissident Chef and his Crew of Rōnin.
