Join the Student Conservation Association for our July ConSERVE NYC event at the Queens Botanical Garden!
The Queens Botanical Garden is an urban oasis where people, plants, and cultures meet. The garden's 39 acres include wetlands, meadows, a rose garden, a pinetum, an apple orchard, and an urban farm. The Visitor & Administration Center -- the first public building in New York City to earn Platinum LEED Certification -- includes a rainwater harvesting system and a green roof that are open for tours.
Volunteers will work on the Urban Farm and in the Parking Garden to pull weeds, mulch beds, and improve green infrastructure systems such as bioswales and permeable pavers that help to capture stormwater and conserve natural resources.
