It’s a Savvy Celebration…..come and celebrate your savings with Michelle, the Savannah Morning News’ savvy shopper. Come and participate in one or all of the following workshops. The cost is just $5, whether you participate in one or all of them. There is something for everyone. If you have extra items in your stockpile please bring them and we will donate the items to America’s Second Harvest. Everyone who brings a donation will receive extra door prize entries and a Sunday paper.
- 1:00- 2:00 Coupon Swap & Question & Answer Session: Bring your coupons and swap with other savvy shoppers. Don’t need those baby or pet coupons? Swap with someone who does. Do you have a question about shopping savvy? Present them to Michelle and receive answers and suggestions from Michelle and other participants. Have you found a great deal lately, found a new way to save? Share it at the meeting. This is a time to meet other savvy shoppers, find some couponing friends and celebrate a savvy life.
- 2:00 – 3:15 Meal Planning workshop & Recipe Swap: Michelle will cover how to plan your weekly meals based on what is on sale and what you have in your stockpile. She will share some great meal planning sites, including some that will give you recipes based on what you already have in your pantry. We will cover once a month cooking, using a crockpot and how to prepare meals quickly in the microwave. You will receive a handout with forms that will help you prepare your menu, and some of Michelle’s favorite recipes. Bring your favorite recipe and give it to Michelle at the event and she will type up the recipes and everyone will receive a free recipe book via e-mail.
- 3:15 – 4:30 Learn to shop Savvy at the Drugstores: this workshop will teach you how to shop savvy at the drugstores. We will talk about Extra Bucks, +UPS, Register Rewards and the coupon policies of Rite Aid, CVS, and Walgreens. Learn how to use the stores money to score many items for free. Each participant will receive a handbook to take home to help you begin your savvy adventure.
4:30 – 5:00 Doorprizes & Q&A: We will be giving away a Crock-Pot® Touchscreen Countdown Programmable Slow Cooker, Crock-Pot® Hook Up™ Connectable Entertaining System, Crock-Pot recipe book, and a FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealing System - V3880a If you bring a donation to the food pantry you get an extra ticket for the Doorprizes.
