An estimated 6,000+ cat-lovers and friends will descend upon Oakland's Uptown to adopt and foster beautiful felines, explore a plethora of cat-themed vendors, dance with fabulous bands, create cat-themed art projects, enjoy seeing celebrity cats, nosh on delicious human food and celebrate the Bay Area's cat community in style (the aerial kitties from Bandaloop will be back too)!
From 3-7 p.m., there will be over a dozen local animal shelters with adorable cats and kittens to foster and adopt as well as information on becoming a kitten foster parent. By the way, all 2014 Kitten Foster Parents who foster a kitten through one of our participating shelters receive FREE ADMISSION to the festival! Visit our website for more de-tails.
As the sun sets, The Great Wall of Oakland will present the all-new #catvidfest 2014 reel from the Walker Art Center, a curated screening of the funniest internet cat videos on The Wall's 100'x100' urban canvas. Sitting with fellow feline aficionados, the audience will laugh aloud together in real-time at such internet phenoms as the Original Grumpy Cat, the newest from Henri the Existential Cat, Cat in Shark Costume Chases Duck While Riding a Roomba and many others!
Best of all, proceeds benefit the East Bay SPCA!
Please print your ticket and bring to the show May 10 at the Festival Entrance (Broadway and West Grand Ave. in Oakland).
Cash and credit cards will be accepted at the door for increased ticket cost. This is a rain or shine event. No outside food or drink is allowed inside festival grounds. In and out privaledges will be allowed. Meow!
