Santa Monica Kid-lympics is coming to Lincoln Middle School on August 16, 2014. The free event will promote fitness, fun and family. It is geared toward boys and girls in third, fourth and fifth grade, but their entire family and their friends are invited.
Families can watch the children participate in the events and enjoy the food and refreshments provided. The children will be grouped into teams of four per team where they will participate in a running relay, soccer challenge and a basketball competition for gold, silver and bronze medals. An award ceremony will occur during the afternoon, providing a venue for the children to be seen and congratulated by their friends, family and the community.
The prizes for the three levels of competition will include awesome toys from Puzzle Zoo, sports equipment, gift bags and gift certificates to local businesses. Every child playing in the games will walk away with a free gift bag, T-shirt and delicious lunch. There will be a variety of vendors, service agencies and local businesses giving away merchandise and information throughout the day. Many great prizes for parents will be given away during the free raffle as well.
What's the catch?
There is no catch, but 3rd, 4th and 5th graders who want to participate absolutely must register for free to participate and win medals, prizes and gift bags. The entire event is free and all children who participate will walk away with a gift bag. Free lunch will be provided for the kids and all of the attractions during the day are entirely free.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Street parking around Lincoln Middle School will be available along with an off-site lot with shuttle buses running throughout the day.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Bring your family and friends! Pets, alcohol and weapons will not be allowed into the event.
What else do I need to know?
Children can form their own teams of four kids in their same grade and of the same gender to compete for the gold, silver and bronze medals.
