Foursquare Chaplains International (FCI), in partnership with the Foursquare Districts and local Foursquare churches, is offering a 16 hour course on Disaster Relief Training, which will help to qualify Foursquare pastors, ministers, and lay leaders to become first responders in disaster or crisis situations (local, regional, national).
To qualify to be let through the “gate” by FEMA, this Disaster Relief Training is required. Attendees will walk away from the two day training with the ability to know their role in crisis response, how to minister, how to stay out of the incident, how to help in organizing in the midst of chaos, who the other agencies are and how to operate within them, and be certified to be that first responder. Additionally, they would become a part of a more mature, better trained, fruitful, involved and relevant group of leaders.
In addition to this training, trainees will also be asked to take four online NIMS (National Incident Management System) courses, and two recommended CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management) courses. All trainees seeking to become a trainer will need to also attend a “train the trainers” course. Licensed Foursquare pastors receiving this initial 16 hour training will be certified as a “Disaster Relief Chaplain”. Uncredentialed leaders will qualify as a “Disaster Relief Associate”.
This Disaster Relief Training will be offered locally at The Church on the Way, Santa Clarita (Santa Clarita Foursquare Church) on October 11-12, 2013. For both days, training will begin at 8:00am and conclude at 5:00pm. The cost for this training (typically $200.00) is being offered for $60.00 per person.
