Lets Discuss How We Can Reduce HIV Infections Among African Americans in Santa Clara County:  Opportunities & Challenges

African Americans face the most severe burden of HIV in Santa Clara County and the US.  In honor of Black History Month and National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, the Systems of Care Roundtable will attempt to focus on potential opportunities for providers and community partners to come together around addressing this health disparity in our community.

Shilpa Jani, Epidemiologist from the Public Health Department will share local HIV/AIDS data and Beverly White, Program Coordinator for the Black Infant Health Program will present  information on health disparities. A panel of your peers will share insights, opportunities, challenges, and experiences with the Black/African American community as it relates to HIV/AIDS in our community.

Santa Clara County HIV/AIDS Systems of Care Roundtable

Santa Clara County HIV/AIDS Systems of Care Roundtable Series promotes a comprehensive system of care, education, and prevention for all people in Santa Clara County living with, affected by, or at risk for HIV/AIDS.  We believe that it is important for all HIV/AIDS service providers and partners in Santa Clara County to collaborate and work in partnership to enhance the current systems of care. Through such collaborative approaches, we can create a seamless system of care, utilize our resources more effectively, identify the service gaps and needs, and better serve the community. The Santa Clara County Public Health Department HIV/AIDS Program organized the Systems of Care Roundtable to serve this purpose and bring programmatic personnel and providers together to strategize, network, and develop new relationships.
