The San Marcos Rattler Alumni All Class Reunion Event

The New San Marcos Rattler Alumni Association (SMRAA) which had really been under the banner of the San Marcos Education Foundation and after 10 years, we finally figured that we need to have separate organizations. The SMRAA will continue to support the SMEF and the SMEF will continue to support us.

This year's event marks the 10th Anniversary of The 'Distinguished Alumni' (DA) Awards and the First Event that will be run by the SMRAA. We hope you will do two things while you are on this link today:

1. Ask for a 'DA application to be emailed to you, and then nominate someone from your class (including yourself) or send it to one of your classmates or all your classmates.

2. Please let us know if you or your class would be interested in a 'Sponsorship', or  reserving a Table of 10 or purchasing tickets for the Rattler Event, just for the number

While this is a reunion of all classes, let's alter the perception of the event a bit and also to answer any of your classmates excuses for not attending a Rattler Reunion; This is an annual event and will always fall (we hope) in October, during the long Columbus Day weekend, but it is a fun-filled event. It is like to going out to a party or gala, or fund raiser once a year, to visit with friends, and have fun. Or like going to Vegas or New York once a year or every couple of years. Or even a date with your spouse to go to dinner and a movie a few times in a year. This is a Event to have fun and at the same time visit with friends and classmates who are your friends, ahead of your class and behind your class. We feel great when we see our friends, don't we. We love our friends & classmates. We have found over the years that Rattler Alumni would rather attend an event with live entertainment and more Alumni DO attend the event. So it is the goal of the SMRAA to bring live entertainment every year and make it a special event, like going to Vegas or New York. DID YOU SAY 'NEW YORK CITY'

October 10th, 2014--6:00 p.m. at the San Marcos Conference Center & Embassy Suites, IH 35 & McCarthy Lane, San Marcos,Texas,                      (next to the Largest Outdoor Outlet Mall in the USA)

The All Class event theme' is New York and 'Purple & White' is the dress (you have heard of Black & White, correct, ok figure it out). We have a 'Surprise Guest Band ' that is one of the top bands in Texas that plays all music from the 50's to the 80's, and special entertainment to. This is also where the 'Distinguished Alumni' Awards will be awarded. This is the 10th year that we honor our 'Distinguished Alumni' and the first year that the SMRAA will make the awards, and we will be recognizing all the 'DA's to date and hope that they can be there with us. If you will check at Rattler Pride.com you can see the past DA winners and what you will also see is their class year. This should tell you if any of your classmates or your class year have any DA's. To date tere are two classes that are tied with the most DA's, and there are many classes that have '0', zero, none, nada, sero' classmates as DA's. Usually the reason is (are you ready for this) no one has nominated them, imagine that. Please request a DA nomination form on Eventbrite, whether you nominate yourself, or have someone nominate you, or a classmate from any class, and pass this on to your other classmates.

October 11, 2014---this will be reserved for individual Rattler Class parties/events/social.

To Date the following classes have announced their own reunion event--Class of 1955, 1964, 1969.

Some classes are having a Reunion in the summer and we invite your class to be with all your Other Rattler Classmates & Friends that you will not see at yours, and remember attending an event with Rattler Classmates/Friends twice in one year is great.

Please register a rsvp that you will be coming to the Rattler Event in October, this is for a numbers count and after your register, you can email this site and ask for a 'DA' nomination application.

For this to work out we ask that each class purchase one table, and that the class years of 55, 59, 64, 69, 74, 79, 84, 89 purchase 2-3 tables or provide one sponsorship.

Sponsorships will be for $2,500, $2,000, $1500, and $1,000 and will include branding on several promotions, that include newspaper, internet, Facebook, Twitter, e-mails, flyers, cards, etc. With the sponsorship, it will include 1 -2 tables of 10 for the event. Please all Rattler Alumni with bucks, moola, dollars, dinero, cash-is-king,  email us for Sponsorship info. We have to be the ones to do this event. In addition if your class wants to purchase tables, you could get the five or 10 classmates to divide the cost, or maybe go 50-50 with a business classmate for a sponsorship. You could also have a 'fun-raiser' for the table sponsorship, and have all 10 work it. There are many ways to raise money today with a little time, maybe you can sell your Rattler memorabilia on E-Bay.
