Urban Beer Hunt will hit the streets of San Francisco on Saturday May 12th, 2012.
Teams venture out on a journey, deciphering clues, solving puzzles and seeking out the many task locations and beer checkpoints that await them. Teams receive clues via text message.
Each team must pre-register one cell phone to receive the text message clues during the hunt. Cell phone registration instructions are provided in the email that you will receive immediately following registration.
Each task and/or location requires a team photo.
Once all the tasks are completed, it's a race to the finish line with $1,000 in Cash and Beer up for grabs.
Promising to be a crazy, wacked out adventure. This event is expected to sell out quickly.

Start/Finish: This event kicks of by text message. Refer to the boundary map (link below) and find a strategic location to start from. Be ready to start receiving texts at noon.
Sign In: None: Texts begin at Noon.
Distance: About 5 miles (run or walk... just have fun!)
Duration: Figure about 2-3 hours, some a bit faster, some a bit slower.
After Party/Awards: 3:30 PM - Food and drink specials will be available for purchase.
What to bring:
Player need to pre-register one cell phone during registration to receive text messages.
Each player needs to bring $5 in one dollar bills. Exact change needed please. Required to complete specific tasks.
A Digital Camera: For team photos - required at each stop. Cell phone camera works good.
Internet: A cell phone or other device with internet access or have phone-a-friends standing by to google answers for you.
GPS or City street map: Your internet connected device works well for this.
Team dressed in costume: not required, but why not?
All teammates must be in all photos at each stop.
Teams need to find a location in by reviewin the boundary map on the event website to start from. At noon on the day of the event, be ready to receive a lot of text messages. Review boundary map below for suggested starting area.
Travel only on foot or public bus. No bikes, cars, skates, or other means of travel allowed.
To win: Teams must complete all the tasks correctly and cross the finish line.
Typically the first team does not win, they get one of the tasks or photos wrong. Double check the details in the tasks.
Nobody likes a cheater. If you see a team cheating, such as using a vehicle or bike, please snap a pic and provide it to the event manager BEFORE the event awards. The team will be disqualified.
