We will be holding tours for all grades on Mondays starting October 7th, with the last tour on January 13th. Tours start at 9:10am in the school yard, where the tour group can watch Kindergarten and First Grade students line up and go into class. We’ll move into the brightly painted Library bungalow adjacent to the garden for a presentation by our Principal, Nora Houseman, followed by a brief Q & A. Classroom visits will follow and the tour will conclude at 10:30am.
San Francisco Community School
SF Community School is an engaging and challenging learning environment, where all students can develop the skills and tools they need to achieve academically and to become effective decision makers and productive citizens in today’s world.
One special aspect of our academic program is our implementation of project-based learning, which gives our students opportunities to learn in a hands-on way—experimenting and researching—guided by committed teachers who, each year, carefully plan engaging, interdisciplinary projects to teach specific learning objectives.
And, because of our small size and our practice of “looping” grades (K-5 students are with their teacher for two years), each student at SFC is known well and supported on their individual educational path.
