The Presenters:

ZYZZYVA’s first issue was published in 1985, under founding editor Howard Junker. In 2011, Laura Cogan became ZYZZYVA’s first new editor in more than 25 years. She and Managing Editor Oscar Villalon make up ZYZZYVA’s editorial team. Then as now, ZYZZYVA is located in San Francisco. And then as now, ZYZZYVA continues its mission of fostering culture on the West Coast, publishing the region’s best writers and artists, and being an engaged member of the Bay Area’s literary community.

Established in 2008, Salon97 is a community-based organization that makes classical music inclusive, educational, and fun for people with an interest in arts and culture, but who find the formal nature of the concert hall intimidating. Through a series of curated, themed listening parties and other hosted events, attendees learn about and discuss classical music, form new friendships and business relationships, and have a great time!
