We are gearing up for our third annual "Salado Swirl" event and we are thrilled that you decided to be part of it. Here is some information that might help answer any questions you may have:
- Dress Code: My suggestion is that you dress comfortable. Our downtown area is a mile long so you will probably want to wear comfortable shoes if you plan on walking to each location. There is plenty of parking along the downtown area for those who are driving instead of walking. The Salado Tourism Department will be providing one 14-passenger trolley for those who prefer to ride instead of walk. The trolley will run up and down Main Street from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.
- Passports: When you arrive in Salado, your first stop will be the Visitor Center to pick up your goody bag, your "Salado Swirl" signature glass, passport and wine plate. It is very important that you pick these things up before the event starts. Your passport will serve as your ticket to get into each location and you will need your glass for your wine tastings at each location. The Visitor Center will be open from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on the day of the event, Saturday, July 12. The Salado Visitor Center is located at: 831 North Main Street, Salado, TX. 76571. We are in the log cabin across the street from Subway.
- How it Works: After you leave the Visitor Center with your goodies you will be on your own. The passport will have a map that shows the location of each trail stop. You can start and end at any location you choose. There is no time limit at each location; you stay for as long as you want, but just remember the event will start at 5:00 p.m. and end at 9:00 pm. You will need to take your "Salado Swirl" signature glass to each location as well as your passport and wine plate. Each location will have a wine tasting and a small snack. No Refunds
If you have any questions or need directions, please call the Visitor Center at 254-947-8634.
