Safe Routes to Downtown:
What can WE do to improve the safety of pedestrian and bicycle routes to downtown Los Altos, especially across busy roads like Foothill and San Antonio?
A Los Altos Forward Community Conversation
Have you ever felt unsafe crossing San Antonio or Foothill Expressway into or out of downtown? Ever wished there were a safer way to walk or bike to downtown so you didn't have to drive? Then come to our next Community Conversation to learn about planning and design strategies that improve the safety of streets and intersections for pedestrians and bicycles, from bike boxes to flexible-use lanes to squaring intersections. Bring your thinking caps, as we may take a field trip to a nearby problematic intersection to brainstorm solutions!
