When & Where
San Antonio Sponsoring Committee (SASC)
The SASC is a collaborative of leaders from congregations, schools, non-profits and others interested in building an institutional network to act and speak effectively and faithfully on behalf of the common good.
The sponsoring committee seeks to form an Institution-Based Community Organization that can serve as a vehicle through which the member institutions can pursue their mission, by:
- Giving a voice and a place at the decision-making table to our families, especially the most vulnerable
- Being a “University of Public Life,” where leaders learn the skills, habits and practices of faithful citizenship
- Identifying, developing and engaging leaders and potential leaders through reflection, action and evaluation, creating a city-wide constituency that engages in community issues
- Creating a stage for people to become public actors on behalf the common good, addressing issues such as public education, health care, and living wages, among many others.
