Attention Santa Cruz County 4th grade teachers!
You and your class are invited to join us on Friday, May 9th for the third annual S4C Samper 4th Grade Experience at Cabrillo College.
The event is designed to excite and motivate your students about college. Students will have an opportunity to participate in a classroom presentation led by Cabrillo College and University of California, Santa Cruz faculty.
Schools are responsible for arranging transportation to and from the event. Bus parking will be available for schools arriving in buses. No parking permit is required for cars or buses in the designated lots.
Each teacher/school is responsible for providing sack lunches for all students, staff and chaperons. Students will need to carry their own lunch as we do not have a place for storage.
We have separated the event into two sessions, so that we can accommodate all 4th grade students in Santa Cruz County who would like to attend. Once you click the registration link you can choose to register for either session. (Please note: Your district administration may have assigned your session previously. If that is your situation, make sure to choose the right session on the registration form.) All classes must be registered separately, not as a school or group of classes.
Check out this article from a previous event!:
9:30-10:30 Guided Campus Exploration
10:45-11:30 Classroom Experience
12:00 Lunch lower campus
10:45-11:45 Guided Campus Exploration
12:00 Lunch upper campus
12:30-1:15 Classroom Experience
Will we know what Classroom Experience we will attend before the event?
Because of the sheer volume of classes it is difficult to provide this information in advance.
I have a 4th/5th split class, can the whole class attend?
Yes, we don’t want you to leave half the class behind.
Do all classes within a school need to attend the same session?
No, classes from the same school can attend different sessions. This is why we have each teacher register separately.
Will my class be separated at the event?
No, we keep the classes together. However you might be placed in a group separate from your school.
See you on May 9th!
