May 31st Party on Pine, Beach Cities Roller Derby, Badfish Roller Derby and Pigeon's Moxi present a new event to the 700 block on Pine Avenue in downtown Long Beach. The first annual “Running of the Dames” will pay homage to the world famous Encierro of Pamplona, Spain, also known as the Running of the Bulls. Local Roller Derby skaters will pose as “Roller Bulls” and take to the street after participant runners. The festivities will be followed by an after-party in the neighboring parking lot of Anderson’s Paint & Hardware. Join us for local bands, a full bar and more!

RULES & REGULATIONS
Once registered, please print and bring your tickets to the event check-in booth on the day of the event.
CHECK-IN: Will take place on May 31 beginning at 10:00am at the check-in booth located on Pine Avenue between 7th & 8th Streets. Early arrival is encouraged. Each participant will be provided with a wristband and set of flags which must be worn around their waist so they can be identified as a run participant.
COSTUMES/ATTIRE: Costumes are encouraged! However, participants must wear appropriate clothing. This is a family-friendly event and no bathing suits/lingerie or nudity are permitted. Traditional running attire includes ALL WHITE clothing with a red scarf around your neck. Please wear closed-toe footwear!
THE RUN: Runs will occur every hour, on the hour, beginning at 1pm. Adult wristbands entitle you to unlimited Adult runs, with the exception of the Grand Prize run at the end of the day. There will be one Junior race, time TBD. All runners must line up for their heat 10 minutes prior to the start of their heat. Upon the start of the race, runners will run counter-clockwise around the track. "Roller Bulls" will chase the runners and attempt to take their flags. If both of your flags are pulled, you are out! The last remaining runner with both flags will be eligible for the grand prize run.
RIGHT OF REFUSAL: The organizers have the right to reject or cancel any entry at any time. No refunds of entree fees.
CANCELLATION/POSTPONEMENTS: The organizers reserve the right to cancel or modify the event in consideration of adverse weather conditions, or other health or safety factors that pose an imminent threat to competitors or volunteers. In the unlikely event of cancellation, registrants will be issued a refund.
PETS: No pets allowed with the exception of service animals.
