Running Boston for Boston
Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM (PDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Here in Boston, we all want to find a way to help the victims of the bombing in Copley Square, but there are so few ways for an ordinary person to help. Right now there's no need to give blood (schedule an appointment next week or next month), and there aren't a lot of volunteer opportunities. I don't have much to offer, but I can run. I'm a relatively new runner. I recently ran my first marathon, and I'm in training for my second.
This Sunday, April 21st, I will run the route of the Boston Marathon from Hopkinton to Boston. I urge you to give $26.20 - a dollar for every mile I will run.
If forty people sponsor me at that level, we can give over $1000 to The One Fund for Boston, just announced by Governor Patrick and Mayor Menino to benefit the victims and their families.
If you'd like to follow me in real time, visit http://www.endomondo.com/profile/4635706 on Sunday morning.
