Dear Student Leaders:

RU Proud and SAFAC will be hosting Safe Zone Training on Friday, October 25th from 1-4pm in WB 611. Light refreshments and snacks will be available during training.

The Safe Zone Ally Program is recommended for faculty, Student Support Services Staff, Residents Advisors, Orientation Leaders, Greek Life, and Student Originations.

The Safe Zone Ally Program responds to the needs of the Roosevelt University student body. The goal of this program is to provide a welcoming environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning individuals by establishing an identifiable network of supportive individuals who can provide support, information and a safe place for LGBTQ individuals within our campus community. Those who have committed to being Safe Zone Allies indicate that bigotry and discrimination, specifically regarding LGBTQ individuals, are not tolerated.

We invite members of your e-boards to attend the safe zone training, to learn how to be a safe space for LGBTQ individuals here at Roosevelt who want to get involved on campus.

Please RSVP at to reserve your spot. We have 40 spots available for this training session.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Thank you,

Matthew Smith

RU Proud President
