ROMERO BRITTO'S NEO-POP ART OPENING AT SKYNEAR DESIGNS GALLERY
Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 5:30 PM (PDT)
Join us for a night of wine and art. Tuesday September 27, 5:30 - 8:30pm.
The brilliant iconic works of ROMERO BRITTO, the leading neo-pop artist of our time, are in their first new public gallery in Washington DC. SKYNEAR DESIGNS GALLERY, known for decades as Washington’s most eclectic design studio-store and advocate for the arts, invites you to an evening with taste of art and a taste of fine wine from the award-winning AM WINE SHOPPE.
This event celebrates Britto’s imaginative cubist-inspired collection for viewing, permanently in Adams Morgan. Britto’s work glows in galleries across five continents, in cities including Barcelona, Stockholm, New York, Miami, Berlin and London. Britto, described as the Andy Warhol of today, has never before displayed in a place such as Skynear with crisp furniture and modern living environments, making his Washington debut both energetic and monumental.
Skynear Designs Gallery is the official Washington, DC Gallery for Romero Britto. The new Skynear + Britto exhibition will also feature expressionist paintings from the renowned southwestern painter Skynear; artwork by Mark Behme, best known for his surrealist, hand-carved sculptural pieces and guitars; and one of a kind monotypes by Claudia Mengel, an accomplished expressionist painter and printmaker.
When & Where
Skynear Designs Gallery
Skynear Designs Gallery is a stunning world of surreal art, eclectic living environments, and high fashion. Our collections and featured artisans are sourced from all four corners of the globe and featured throughout the iconic Skynear Building in Adams Morgan.
Our continuous collaboration with design/ art teams, such as the Zenith Gallery and the brilliant Romero Britto, echoes Skynears passionate pursuit and support of artists of all trades.
Since 1988, Skynear Designs Gallery has become a widespread household name because of incredible long-lasting designer- client relationships and the success of monumental projects (such as rebuilding and designing the new Iraqi Embassy in Washington DC). We have furnished embassies, movie sets, tv studios, model homes, apartments, lofts, hotels, clubs bars, and restaurants (Saki, Felix, Chloe, Yankee Trader, Lemon Grass Restaurant and Mezze Modern to name a few).
