Walk for the Homeless with Rainbow Place Shelter and Community Ministries of Rockville Housing Program. Join us for lunch at Rainbow Place Shelter followed by a lovely Walk through Downtown Rockville. Visit locations that support homeless services and pick up facts about homelessness and programs in Montgomery County. Finish the Walk at CMR's Jefferson House with refreshments. Non-walkers are invited to participate with Rockville Rocks Home - rock in rocking chairs at Rockville Presbyterian Church while walkers travel the route.
The full walk is just under 1 1/2 miles and there are places along the route to shorten the Walk.

Rainbow Place Shelter and CMR's Housing Program
Rainbow Place is an emergency shelter. We work with women at the very beginning of their transition out of homelessness. Our primary focus is to keep homeless women off of the streets during the winter months and offer case management.
We are open from November 1 - March 31. Our clients receive a warm, safe place to sleep, a hot dinner, breakfast, a bag lunch, shower, laundry facilities, limited storage space, limited transportation, access to case management, and referrals to local social service and treatment programs. For additional information see www.RainbowPlace.org or call 301-762-1496.
Community Ministries of Rockville (CMR) seeks to improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable of Montgomery County residents by providing them with basic health and human services and advocating on their behalf, with the goal of helping them achieve and maintain self-sufficiency.
CMR's Housing Program includes two homes: the JEFFERSON HOUSE PERSONAL LIVING QUARTERS (est. 1991) and the ROCKLAND HOUSE (opened April 2014) which provide permanent housing for homeless men and women who need ongoing support services to achieve self-sufficiency. There are four additional programs under the CMR umbrella: the Mansfield Kaseman Health Clinic, Rockville Emergency Assistance Program, Elderly Ministries Program and the Language Outreach Program. For more information, see www.CMRocks.org or 301-637-0730.
