The Rockefeller Center is excited to host this student staff luncheon with thought leader in leadership development Gama Perruci, Interim Provost, Dean of McDonough Center and McCoy Professor of Leadership.
A native of Brazil, Dr. Perruci's current research area is the impact of globalization on leadership development. He has been published widely in the area of international politics and Latin American leadership issues. Aside from his administrative duties and research, Dr. Perruci also serves as a consultant for colleges and corporations. He currently serves as a consultant for The New York Times, focusing on the newspaper's educational initiatives for first-year students and leadership programs. His most recent consulting assignments include a review of the Department of Leadership, Ethics and Law (LEL) at the United States Naval Academy (Annapolis, Maryland) and an evaluation of the leadership program at Zayed University in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Dr. Perruci currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the International Leadership Association, Inc. (ILA) – the premier association for leadership educators and scholars. For the past three years, he also has served as a member of the National Selection Committee (America's Best Leaders Project, Top American Leaders Project) convened by Harvard Kennedy School's Center for Public Leadership in collaboration with the weekly magazine, U.S. News & World Report (2009-2010), and The Washington Post(2011). Dr. Perruci has been a frequent guest analyst for the London-based BBC World Service and Paris-based Radio France International broadcast to Brazil.
The Rockefeller Center for Public Policy at Dartmouth College is a catalyst for teaching, research, and deliberation about public policy. Dedicated to providing an interdisciplinary perspective on policy-related topics, the center fosters a commitment to the ideals of public service and informed public debate exemplified by the man for which the Center is named, Nelson A. Rockefeller.
