ROBOTIS KidsLab is an educational robotics class and we are thrilled that they are coming to LA Makerspace to teach a class.
You may have heard of them because they were one of Super Awesome Sylvia's Picks for Make Magazine's Holiday Gift Guide 2012! "I love this little bug kit. It can use IR or xbee for the remote and you can build all sorts of fun stuff with it. The Ollo line of kits from Robotis are snap together plastic with batteries, motor, and remote that let you build some very cool walking or rolling bots while teaching science and the physics of basic machines."
KidsLab will be teaching a basic robotics course for elementary school students (grades 1-6) and first-time robot builders. In this course, students will learn the basic usages of OLLO parts and learn about the principle of robotics.
Many existing robot classes focus solely on teaching students how to assemble robots, but ROBOTIS KidsLab teaches much more than just robot assembly. Students at ROBOTIS KidsLab will learn about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) using OLLO educational robot kits. Not only will they get to design and build their own robots, they will gain valuable skills like team work, project management, problem solving, etc.
