The information session is designed to give an overview of the Current Nursing Practice Update (RN Refresher) courses and explain the health and clinical requirements. Held in Room T334
Are you are a nurse who has not been actively involved in nursing practice, but still hold a current license? The RN Refresher courses will assist you in returning to your nursing career. Through a combination of classroom instruction and Saturday sessions in a clinical setting at a local hospital, you will learn concepts to assist you in reestablishing confidence and competence in your nursing career.
The course is divided into two components:
First: Fourteen Monday evenings and in three Saturday skills sessions.
Update Topics covered on Monday evenings include Pharmacology, Cardiac, Respiratory, Diabetes, Wound Care, Gastro, Orthopedics, Renal, Neurological, Psych, Ethics, End of Life Care and Communicable Diseases; and Three Saturday Assessment Skills Labs
Second: Hands-on clinical experience for 8 Saturdays at a local hospital.
Nurses in the clinical protion of the class must have a current Illinois Nurses License and meet the health requirements for the course.
