ReWire is a free fitness class, that is a collaboration between Astrid Bengtson of North End's Bodytalk Factory and Boston's very own cycling legend Jon Malone. It's a kick ass class, where two kick ass people are merging their kick ass skills. The class is all about getting back to our true nature, from every angle possible. The first half of the class is run by Astrid, who will do what she does best; reversing our most common muscular imbalances and postural deviations through specific stretches, and corrective exercises. After that, Jon will infuse his alternative sports background into a running and conditioning session. Bodyweight and working with and against gravity is the common thread for the work of both Jon and Astrid, though Jon takes the connection to our true nature and authentic self a little further with his philosophy on how moving provides a sense of freedom in life. You know, that child like sense of freedom most of us was closely connected to at some point in our lives, that got lost in translation somewhere down the road when life happened. He believes that by training and rewarding those behaviors with consistency and periodization, one can find their optimal performance. That way, when someone asks you to go ski, hike, bike, or surf, you'll be more inclined to say, "yes" and just go for it! So say YES to ReWire. You won't regret it.
