What you're supporting: holistic wellness + social justice + synergy
We're raising energy an money for the official launch of Black Gaia™ , a program and curriculum rooted in Black Diaspora history and tools for mindful living that takes place on trails and at local farms (see picture below). Hosted by Rootwork, this program is designed to support the local food justice organization Food for Black Thought , connects community members with sustainable farms, and collaborates with local businesses of color. See the synergies already at work!
With your help, we'll expand hikes in spring 2015, launch a farm-based curriculum focused on Black Diaspora environmental and agricultural history in March/April 2015, and have a curriculum that supports Rootwork, Food for Black Thought, and this growing network of collaborators.
It's communal!
