WHAT IS A RETROUVAILLE PROGRAM?
The Retrouvaille Program consists of a weekend experience combined with six post-weekend sessions held on Sunday afternoons. It is designed to provide the tools to help put your marriage in order again. The main emphasis of the program is on communication between husband and wife. It will give you the opportunity to rediscover each other and to examine your lives together in a new and positive way.
WHAT THE PROGRAM IS NOT
While the program is much like a retreat, there are no group dynamics or group discussions on the weekend. It is not a time for hurting, but, it is a time for healing as a couple.
WHOM IS IT FOR?
It is for couples with troubled marriages including separated or divorced couples who want their marriages to work. Many couples have experienced issues such as infidelity, addictions, blended family/parenting challenges, long distance relationships, inlaw/farmily issues, financial hardship, or may have grown apart from each other. Many couples are facing the challenges of being newly married, while others may have been married for many years. A willingness and desire by both husband and wife to improve the marriage is needed.
DO YOU HAVE TO BE CATHOLIC?
Retrouvaille is Catholic in origin, however, the weekend is a non-denominational Christian program and all are welcome. Couples of all faiths and those with no faith tradition are always welcome and encouraged to participate.
WHAT HAPPENS IN A RETROUVAILLE PROGRAM?
The Retrouvaille program is a two-phase program. The first phase is the weekend itself. The second phase consists of six post-sessions spread out over two to three months. These post-sessions are critical in assisting struggling couples in healing and rebuilding a new foundation based on love, respect and communication.
During the weekend phase, a series of presentations are given by a team of three couples and a priest or three couples and a minster & spouse.
The team presents a technique of communication that enables you to take a good look at most areas of your relationship. After each presentation you have time in the privacy of your room to discuss the previous presentations. You are not asked to share personal information with others.
The post-weekend phase is as crucial to the healing of a troubled marriage as the initial weekend experience. During the six post-weekend sessions, the technique learned on the weekend is further developed and is used to explore additional areas of the marriage relationship more in depth.

When & Where
Retrouvaille of Jacksonville, Florida
Retrouvaille of Jacksonville is a group of trained mentor couples who have experiened marital issues themselves who now teach other couples how to repair their own marriages.
The word Retrouvaille™
(pronounced re-tro-vi with a long i.) is a French word meaning rediscovery. The program offers tools needed to rediscover a loving marriage relationship. Thousands of couples headed for cold, unloving relationships or divorce have successfully overcome their marriage problems by attending the program.
Who is it for?
It is for couples with marital problems including those who are considering marriage separation and those who are already separated or divorced that want marriage help.
Some couples come to Retrouvaille during the initial signs of a marriage problem. Other couples are in a state of despair and hopelessness when they attend the program. These latter couples often consider the Retrouvaille program their final option.
Many lawyers and judges send couples to Retrouvaille as a prerequisite to filing for a divorce or rendering final decisions. Many marriage counselors send their clients to Retrouvaille as a prerequisite to marriage counseling. These professionals know that the tools of communication in marriage taught in the program are often what couples need.
The Retrouvaille program is not designed nor intended for couples in a co-habitating relationship.
Weekend programs are offered three times annually.
