Event Details

Join us as the School of Social Work honors Dr. Harold Briggs with a Retirement Symposium on Social Justice and Civil Rights.

The symposium will begin with the viewing of Foot Soilders for Equal Justice, a documentary by Donald Hollowell which brings together archival materials and interviews to tell the story of higher education desegregation at the University of Georgia.

Dr. Briggs will then share his insightful research exploring the "African American Experience" in the United States. The morning will be closed by a research panel facilating discussion, questions and answers.

Hosted by, The Social Justice, Diversity & Inclusion Committee of the School of Social Work.

PSU School of Social Work

The School of Social Work is meeting a critical need in Oregon as the only graduate level social work education program in the state, and the only public option for undergraduate social work students as well.

With strong academic programs, nationally recognized research success, and a growing continuing education program we are making sure that a social worker is there and ready when you need one.
