An all-day event where participants are invited to catch as many waves as they can to help raise support for ReSurf’s mentorship program and community projects.
How it works
There is a $20 registration minimum per participant, which allows you to participate (items included in registration are listed below). You may sign up as an individual or as a team. You can and are encouraged to raise additional support either by yourself or by fundraising and finding sponsors, which will make you (besides an awesome person) a higher level participant and will include various exciting incentives. The collected donations can either be submitted online or can be brought to the registration table on the day of the event, August 31st. Surfers are encouraged to catch as many waves as possible, but of course there is no minimum or maximum amount of time or number of waves one is required to surf. If you do not own your own surfboard, one can be provided for you for a 30 min period free of charge.
When & Where
ReSurf is a sustainable mentorship program that teaches surfing and valuable life skills to children in "at-risk" communities. ReSurf programs refurbish donated surf boards, uniquely decorate them with local artists, teach surfing and vocational skills to their mentees, and set up surf clubs in collaboration with local community centers. These surf clubs are maintained by our staff and eventually taken over by participants as a continuing program that serves the community for generations.
