Resilinator Mom's Night

Join us for stories of inspiration from moms who are dedicated to their wellness, and learn how to become more resilient to lead with heart and adventure.

Guest Speakers:

• Katy McCormick Pearson - Mom of Grace & Lily - Breck Middle School Counselor - Resiliency Expert - Believes "Resiliency skills can be taught". Through research and study on the topic of resiliency, Katy has concluded that resiliency skills can be taught. She uses her knowledge on this topic in her day-to-day as a mother of teenage daughters, Grace and Lily, and as a middle school counselor at Breck School. Katy first explored the question of "Can resiliency be taught?" when she worked as an Outward Bound instructor. Students learned about problem solving, goal setting, communication and perseverance while co-existing in a group and facing challenges in a wilderness environment. Katy's family, husband Toby and their daughters, perhaps demonstrated the greatest testimony to resiliency in the face of adversity. Grace and Lily were in a plane crash back in 2003. They survived the crash and learned to thrive. Toby leaned on his community, skillfully problem solved and relied on faith to propel him forward. Today, Katy and her family share their story to help others gain perspective and momentum in their lives.
• Abbie Hamilton, MD - Twin Cities Orthopedics - Orthopedic Surgeon - Mom of 5, 4 and 3 year olds - Lifelong swimmer, tennis and lacrosse player. Dr. Hamilton will speak on the medical benefits of exercise and important safety info to have to avoid injury and keep active for life.
• Jan Guenther - Owner of Gear West Ski & Run - Mom - Decorated Endurance Racer. "It's all about attitude, and attitude needs to be trained"
