We are building a bridge from American biomedical businesses to information about (1) the clinical needs of our troops, our Wounded Warriors, and our Veterans, and (2) sources of funding focused on advancing defense health products.
Our mission is to accelerate the pace at which American businesses develop products to improve the care and rehabilitation of the men and women who have served us in uniform.
Over the next 50 years, with our current standard of treatments, America is estimated to spend $500 billion caring for those who served our country in uniform. (Sources: VA; internal estimates; Stiglitz and Bilmes 2010 )
New safe and effective treatments can help Wounded Warriors, Veterans, and military family caregivers return to part- or full-time work.
Our main goal is to improve the care of each one of our troops, our Wounded Warriors, and our Veterans so that they remain strong social and economic contributors to American society.
In addition we aim to:
· Accelerate the pace at which American businesses develop new products to improve the care and rehabilitation of our Wounded Warriors and our Veterans,
· Help lower the direct and indirect long-term costs to our nation of their impaired ability,
· Highlight the need to develop non-addictive medications,
· Create more high-quality bioscience jobs in America, and
· Maintain America’s leadership in biomedical innovation.
